"Touched by the Hand of God" by New Order
In the Peter Hook episode, I mentioned a song that I was reminded of after reading Substance, but I forgot the title. Well, it was "Touched by the Hand of God." I'd forgotten how much I liked it and I was reminded of the video, which at the time it was released I found both perplexing and humorous because I couldn't understand why they were dressed as a glam-metal band. It turns out they were just making fun of that style, and were also giving MTV the finger because MTV wouldn't give their videos air time, whereas videos by bands like Motley Crue were on heavy rotation. The video was directed by Kathryn Bigelow who would go on to win an Oscar many years later for directing The Hurt Locker. So, here's the video. Enjoy!
