TV Party: Jean-Michel Basquiat

In her memoir, Debbie Harrie talked about TV Party which was a cable-access television program in New York City that aired from the late 70s to the early 80s. Chris Stein of Blondie was a co-creator of the show. Guests included many people who went on to become well-known names in both music and the art world, respectively, including Klaus Nomi, David Byrne, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, among others. Basquiat made many appearances on the show when he was a street artist going by the name of SAMO, and before he became known around the world as a major artist. You can see him below on TV Party during one of those appearances. You can also see him briefly in the video for Blondie's "Rapture." He is the "DJ" at approximately 1:54.
